Computer Arts Q&A

Q.
What reasons would you ever give to *turn down* working with a client?”

A.
Typically, reasons to turn down projects would be those that I can’t fully grasp, a complex financial product for example, or something I believe may have a detrimental environmental or health impact, anything that conflicts with my own values.

Instinct, founded on an experience of working with difficult clients, also plays a crucial role. Any indication that expectations aren’t aligned, is enough of a reason pass.

Finally, while thick-skinned, if I receive a call or e-mail that I find unnecessarily rude or aggressive, a good indication of a potential inequality that could emerge during a project, I’ll certainly consider if it’s worth the hassle.
