As the client said themselves, architects love lines. This was the foundation of their new visual identity system alongside the concept of Continuity & Connections.

“By designing a building from the inside-out as much as from the outside-in, we infuse a sense of continuity and connection to the wider-world” – Fabrik Architects.

As a response to this, the fine makes up the big, and serves to connect the immediacy of architectural imagery with the narrative texture of their context.

As a foundational gesture, the logo plays with positive and negative space–just as architects play with volume and void–and a natural synergy between the two letters F and A. A grid-based baseline system, connecting image and text, was developed from this and applied across the studio’s title blocks and communications.

There are three versions of the logo that, just like architecture, offers a contextual sensitivity, expanding and contracting, getting heavier or lighter. This also extends to the logotype. This contracts or extends to its fullest version depending on the space it occupies. This could be a business card, website header or site signage.
